Preamble
The Mid Pennar Reservoir has been constructed across River Pennar near Penakacherla (v), Garladinne Mandal, Ananthapuramu District of Andhra Pradesh witha storage capacity of 5.17 TMC.

Modernisation of Mid Pennar South Canal (MPSC) from Km. 0.00 to Km. 84.00
It is proposed to modernize the M.P. South Canal from Km. 0.00 to Km. 84.00 by providing C.C. Lining for Bed and Sides to carry a discharge of 1825 Cusecs against the present Capacity of 1342 Cusecs.
The Administrative Approval has been accorded by the Government for Rs.124.41 crores vide G.O.Ms. No. 48 I&CAD (PW-Maj. IX) Dept. Dated : 01.03.2007.
The works are proposed to be taken up in 2 Packages viz Package No.43 & 44.
